“New England Performance Excellence Initiative” Launches to Promote Recognition of Performance Excellence, Innovation
Today, in response, “The New England Performance Excellence Initiative” (NEPE Initiative) was launched to serve as the region’s collaboration center for performance excellence, and to improve New England’s competitive advantage through the recognition and development of organizational performance excellence.
“’Performance excellence’ is and always has been a native New England characteristic, and a distinguishing feature of our community-at-work,” said Charles P. Collins, the moving force behind the NEPE Initiative and Principal of Objective Solutions, LLC, a Boston-area performance management company.
“It’s a galvanizing theme, a celebrated cause and a unifying message that represents the entire region and not just individual states or sectors,” he explained. The NEPE Initiative defines “performance excellence” across, and connects, the fields of commerce, medicine, scientific research, community groups, finance, academia and state and local government.
“By celebrating and encouraging ‘performance excellence’ as a native characteristic and a distinguishing feature of the New England community-at-work in all sectors, our vision of ‘New England – Center of Performance Excellence™’ is a powerful motivating force to focus the people and organizations of New England together to turn the tide of competitive advantage back to our residents, communities, businesses, and economy,” he added.
News Media, Businesses, Public Agencies, Trade Associations are Encouraged to Join, Collaborate
“We are actively seeking the participation of regional and local news media, small and large companies, local and state development offices, trade organizations, public interest groups and professional associations as collaboration partners in the NEPE Initiative,” Collins said.
“Together, as partners, we can connect the many individual performance improvement initiatives underway in the public and private sectors which are not aware of one another, and therefore, not taking full collaborative advantage of one another‘s accomplishments and resources,” he said.
“This cross-sector, regional collaboration will spotlight ‘performance oriented’ organizations in all sectors and their measurable processes for achieving performance excellence and excite and motivate others to aspire to “performance excellence” inspired by stories of their neighbor‘s performance improvement results.
The NEPE Initiative website (http://www.newenglandperformanceexcellence.com/) will serve as the central focal point for accessing ‘Performance Resources’ (methods, expertise, local programs, etc.), ‘Performance Communities’ (networking, performance partnerships, blogs, etc.), and the ‘Performance Spotlight’ media partnership.”
“‘Performance excellence’ has universal appeal across all sectors regardless of organizational purpose, processes, or structure,” said Collins. “It’s a measurable, tangible and results oriented characteristic long associated with the New England Yankee ethos. And it is upon our 400 year old foundation of performance excellence that “New England – Center of Performance Excellence™,” the central brand of the NEPE Initiative, will stand strong.”
