New Online “Help Desk” Offers Safe Lifting Assistance to Healthcare Facilities

- Associated Forum Provides Resources for Healthcare Professionals, Industry -
Franklin, Mass. – December 4, 2007 – The Liko-sponsored Safe Lifting Portal today announced the launch of a safe lifting “Help Desk” for healthcare professionals worldwide.
In addition, an associated safe lifting forum, called “Safe Lifters,” will allow healthcare professionals to discuss their patient lifting challenges and successes with others, as well as support those who are getting started with a safe patient handling program.

Of the approximately 6,000 hospitals in the United States, fewer than 500 have instituted some type of safe lifting or caregiver injury prevention program. Free Video DVD Available to Help Hospitals Inform Patients, Families about Safe Lifting Policies

Franklin, Mass. – July 31, 2007 – A new, free video clip is available to help hospitals and nursing homes inform patients and their families about safe lifting policies. The brief video can be viewed online — or may be requested as a DVD — from Liko, the pro bono sponsor of the healthcare industry’s popular “Safe Lifting Portal” injury prevention site.

The video, titled “Help Us Prevent Caregiver Injuries,” was produced by Liko to help hospitals inform patients or family members about being lifted or transported using a mechanical assistive device.
