Premier Consulting and Triconex experts to present at TÜV Rheinland Safety Symposium USA in Galveston, TX on April 25th

FOXBORO, MASSACHUSETTS, USA – March 28, 2007 – Three well-known safety system experts from Invensys will be presenting technical papers at the Second Annual International TÜV Safety Symposium USA, April 24 & 25, 2007 in Galveston, Texas. The main objective of the conference is to provide an overview of worldwide developments and show practical experience of manufacturers of safety-related products and end-users in the U.S.

All three Invensys technical papers will be presented on Wednesday, April 25th.

  • At 9:00 am, Robin McCrae-Steele from Premier Consulting Services will present, “DCS Embedded Safety Instrumented Systems – Side Effects to Consider.”
  • At 11:30 am, Luis Duran from Triconex will present, “What is the Importance of Third Party Certification and SIL Rating on SIS Elements.”
  • Finally, Robert Adamski from Premier Consulting Services will present on “Cyber-Security Concerns in Safety Instrumented Systems,” during a workshop starting at 1:30 pm.

Robin McCrea-Steele is a senior safety consultant and director of Premier Consulting Services business development at Invensys. Mr. McCrea-Steele is a Certified TÜV Functional Safety Expert and approved instructor for the TÜV ASI Rheinland Functional Safety Program. He is an AIChE Member, ISA Senior Member, and SP84 committee member working on the Safety Field Bus task force.

Luis Duran, director of Triconex product marketing at Invensys Process Systems, has an MBA and BSEE from Universidad Simon Bolivar in Caracas, Venezuela. Mr. Duran has more than 15 years experience in different industrial automation disciplines, including design and implementation of Safety Instrumented Systems, Critical Controllers and BPCS, Process Modeling and Design Software and Advanced Process Control for business improvement in the Oil & Gas Downstream industry.

Robert Adamski, director of Premier Consulting Services at Invensys, received his Bachelors Degree from the State University of New York in 1971 and has worked as an Engineer, Engineering Supervisor, or Manager in the chemical, petrochemical, petroleum, and pharmaceutical industry for over 30 years. Mr. Adamski is a Certified TÜV Functional Safety Expert and approved instructor for the TÜV ASI Rheinland Functional Safety Program.
